Mia
Am I in heaven? What happened to me? All I can remember were the ambulance lights and the paramedics telling me not to fall asleep, I couldn’t do it. I feel like I’m sleeping all day, all night. Can’t feel anything or hear anyone. I lost the notion of time.

Mia’s friend
“I’m very worried about Mia, where is she? How is she?”. That’s what I told the two men. They looked like they were part of the police. They were asking me everything about last night, but I was still shocked.

Yesterday I went with Mia to a friends house because there was a party. We went in and somebody gave us drinks. We were partying and having fun. Then, a guy approached Mia, but I didn’t notice until she told me. Mia told him to leave because he was making her feel uncomfortable. The music was too loud so he didn’t listen. Mia repeated again the same thing a bit louder. He
heard her but didn’t care. She ended up taking my hand and taking me to another zone. There, we started to talk and chill on the sofa. Mia told me she wanted to have more drinks so we went and had some. We were having a lot of fun but we were a bit drunk. She told me that she wasn’t feeling good, that she wanted to go outside. We went out of the house and I didn’t know what happened. It all went too fast and it was blurred. It all happened in a matter of seconds. When I noticed, I saw everyone around the pool, in silence, looking at me. Then, my heart stopped beating. The pool started to turn red and no one was doing anything.

I jumped into the pool and grabbed Mia. She was unconscious, I wasn’t sure if she was breathing. I saw that she hurt her head, there was a lot of blood. I was so scared. I didn’t want to lose her. A girl told me that she hit her head with a corner of the pool. I was so nervous so I told that girl to call an ambulance right now. While the ambulance was coming, I cried next to Mia,
waiting, impatient.

Then, the two men told me:
— OK. We understand and we are so sorry about that,
thanks for the information. We will tell you something
when she wakes up from her coma.
— What! Is she in a coma?! -My eyes were tearing up-.
The two men left the room. If she doesn’t wake up, I
won’t be able to live anymore.
